Lung Cancer Awareness

Saying that Kentuckian suffer lung cacner more than other parts of the country, Governor Andy Beshear joined supporters of lung cancer awareness at the state capitol on Wednesday.Governor Beshear began his news conference announcing that any adult, 18-years-old or older, is eligible to receive their COVID-19 booster shot.Governor Beshear proclaimed November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month in the commonwealth, and he encouraged Kentuckians to learn more about lung cancer, its risk factors, and screening options. Statistics show Kentucky is second in the nation in lung cancer screening, nearly 11% of those diagnosed with lung cancer do not receive cancer treatment – a significantly higher rate than the national average.
