LION Reopening Beattyville Plant
Over 6 dozen new jobs are coming to Lee County now that LION First Responder PPE is reopening. The Beattyville plant shut down in 2010 after 30 years. According to Gov. Andy Beshear’s office the Daytin, Ohio first responder equipment manufacturer is investing $850,000 to renovate the Center St. facility. Production is scheduled to resume this fall. LION officials say they will establish an apprenticeship program with the Lee County Area Technology Center.
