Independence Day Fireworks Can Trigger PTSD

With Independence Day approaching area veterans organizations remind the public that fireworks can trigger a post-traumatic stress disorder attack. VFW Department of Kentucky Senior Vice Commander Nathan Sesco tells WYMT that fireworks especially larger ones can sound like mortar fire and it can tqke them back to the battlefield. Sesco says it’s a good idea to let your veteran neighbors know in advance if you’re planning to light off fireworks so they aren’t surprised.
