Hospital Walkway
In an effort to help keep employees, patients and visitors from having to cross a busy highway to get to their facility, officials with Pikeville Medical Center announced they are building an underground pedestrian bridge. We’re told the tunnel, which will run underneath KY 1426, also known as Bypass Road, will allow people to move from the Riverfill parking lot to Pikeville Medical Center’s main campus quickly and safely. The concrete structure will be 108 feet long, 10 feet wide and eight feet high with lighting throughout the walkway and both entrances.Construction will begin on April 26th.
