Fire smoldering in Spanish Springs
A fire smoldering in a gravel pit in Spanish Springs Valley is causing some unhealthy air. KOLO-TV reports the fire is burning in a compost pile at a landscaping supply company that turns wood and other materials into compost. Truckee Meadows firefighters say the fire is difficult to douse and will take time. They say smoke is expected to linger for the next several days-so there’s no need to call 911.
