A number of in-home child care programs were able to reopen this past Monday in Kentucky, and now daycares across the state will be be able to open this coming Monday. A survey of child care providers says that 11 to 15 percent of the facilities may be closed permanently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Around 66 percent of child care providers have had to lay off staff during the extended shut down that started on March 20th. Even though daycares will be able to open, they’ll have to follow guidelines laid out by Governor Andy Beshear.
