Corporal Punishment Being Reviewed In KY
A controversial form of punishment in schools could be banned after a bill was filed ahead of Kentucky’s General Assembly. Rep. Steve Riley, R-Glasgow, filed a bill that would remove paddling as a form of discipline in school and in church-related privately operated child-caring agencies or facilities. Most districts across Kentucky have already dropped the disciplinary action a long time ago, but a handful still have it around. In our region, Raceland-Worthington Independent and Pike County Schools mention the action in their code of conducts.
