Coal Run Police Get New Non-Lethal Weapons

Coal Run Police showed the department’s newly-purchased non-leathal weapons at a recent city commissioner’s meeting. Police Chief Anthony Maggard tells the News-Express that the weapons fire a pepper ball or self-defense ball and gives officers another option before having to use their firearm. Maggard says he will be sending an officer for training on the new weapon then that officer will be training colleagues. The weapons won’t be deployed until training is completed.
